On January 25th, 2018, 3-year-old Aubrey Rose Hutchinson went missing from her home in Jacksonville, Florida. Her mother, 24-year-old Leanne Hunn, claimed that she put Aubrey to bed around 11 p.m. the night before and woke up to find her missing the next morning.

A massive search effort was launched, with hundreds of volunteers, law enforcement officials, and K-9 units scouring the area for any sign of the little girl. Despite their efforts, no trace of Aubrey was found.

As the investigation continued, suspicions began to swirl around Aubrey's mother. Hunn had a history of drug abuse and run-ins with the law, and many believed that she was somehow involved in her daughter's disappearance.

Finally, on February 6th, Hunn was arrested and charged with child neglect and giving false information to law enforcement. She had allegedly left Aubrey alone in the apartment while she went out to buy drugs, and when she returned, the little girl was gone.

Despite this new information, Aubrey's whereabouts remained unknown. Hunn refused to cooperate with investigators and claimed that she didn't know what had happened to her daughter.

Months went by with no new leads, until August 2018 when a human skull was found in a wooded area near the apartment complex where Aubrey had gone missing. DNA testing confirmed that the remains were those of the little girl.

Hunn was charged with murder in connection with her daughter's death, but the case never went to trial. In January 2020, Hunn was found dead in her jail cell. The cause of death was ruled a suicide.

The tragic case of Aubrey Rose Hutchinson is a heartbreaking reminder of the dangers of drug addiction and neglect. Despite the efforts of law enforcement and the community, this little girl's life was cut short far too soon. May she rest in peace.
